What is the throat chakra?
The throat chakra is the 5th chakra which is also known as Vishuddhi in Sanskrit and Vishuddhi means purity or purification, and this is about communication, being vocal, expressions, truth, authenticity, clarity (also crown) and balance between speaking and listening. The throat is related with mouth, tongue, thyroid and ears.
Blue is the colour of the throat chakra which represents true self and calmness. Because the throat is linked with communication it’s linked with the planet Mercury which is about discovering yourself, finding yourself and the colour blue also represents calmness. The Bija chant for throat is Ham or Om Mani Padme Ham (Sacred Lotus) is a wonderful chant for the throat and the musical key for the throat is G.
What blocks the throat chakra?
Self-doubting and not believing yourself will block the throat chakra, the colour blue negative way is the colour of depression and when in a depressive mood, the wrong words come out and causes lower vibration towards the throat. When the mouth moves faster than your mind also blocks the throat as you may have said something in the wrong way.
Shouting and screaming in anger causes blockages in the throat. Also, when your being creative linking with the sacral that cause communication problems with harmonize a lower octave. Lying to try cut corners will bring out of balance which will cause problems with other chakras.
Healing the throat chakra?
Saying positive affirmations about yourself will help your inner self like “I am” or “I will”, yoga and mindfulness helps the throat chakra.
Journaling and writing will help see your emotions. Looking in the mirror giving yourself positive vibes will give a good outlook. Crystals like, Sodalite, Sugilite, Aquamarine, Lapis Lazuli, Larimar, Blue Laced Agate, Tanzanite, Kyanite are wonderful crystals. Incense like peppermint, basil or eucalyptus are good for throat chakra. Chanting and singing will help the throat especially if it’s in key of G.
